ARGILE - The Monotonous Moment Of A Monologue
|
10/10 |
Hey...this is real music! Nevertheless, it is hard to review such
ineffable masterpiece in just few words, but I'll try to do my best. For
those who don't know, this is the second band of S.A.S de L'Argilière and
Jean-Jacques Moréac (MISANTHROPE), and not a project. The band's style is
an epic heavy doom death metal, but very original. The major attraction of
the album is the monumental avant-gardistic music, sustained by an
exceptional production. The solos are unreal, and the keyboards are
lightly progressive. There are certain surprises like the DARKTHRONE "In
the Shadow of the Horns" cover sung in French and a 6 minutes long
Requiem, done on orchestra, strings and featuring S.A.S de L'Argiliere
multi theatrical vocals. Speaking of vocals, they are similar to some
extent to King Diamond's (and only regarding their multi-modulating
performance), but still very different. We don't have to forget the
fucking great riffs performed by Jean-Jacques and the lyrics, very
profound and only for the initiated people. A fantastic trip into the late
80's and the beginning of the 90's metal music, everything arranged into
an avant-gardistic manner. It's the first original album I've ever
listened to since 2000 and I strongly recommend you all to buy it, because
you don't have the chance every day to listen to such ineffable
masterpieces as "The Monotonous...".
